What is Life Insurance?

Life Insurance is a contract between insured person and LIC under which a sum of money is paid to him or his heirs, on the happening of a certain event. Undergoing Training and passing the Test

• Unit Manger are appointed initially on probation. They can be confirmed only after they undergo training and pass the test.
• Help the Unit Manager acquire minimum knowledge about life insurance and how to sell it, some elementary information is given on various subjects.
• Any further guidance you may need in advancing your knowledge or developing skills of selling in the field can be obtained fro

m the supervisory officer (Marketing officer or Branch officials, as the case may be).
• The Branch Officials will also arrange for arranging further classroom training when a training session is held. In short, you are advised to take three steps; study the material herein; obtain the guidance or clarifications from your Marketing/Senior officer or Branch Official where necessary and attend the training sessions.

If a Unit Manager studies seriously, he will not only pass the test to earn confirmation but he will have taken an important step in building the agency business on a strong and durable foundation.
 

Who can sell Insurance Products/Policies?

A person can sell/promote Insurance Policies on behalf of an Insurance Company only when he/she becomes eligible or qualifies to become an Insurance Advisor.


How does one qualify as an Insurance Advisor?

Step 1: Qualification of the applicant: - The applicant shall possess the minimum qualification of a pass in 12th Standard or equivalent examination conducted by any recognized Board/Institution, where the applicant resides in a place with a population of five thousand or more as per the last census, and a pass in 10th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board/Institution if the applicant resides in any other place.
Step 2: Appear for Interview (candidates are selected on merit basis)
Step 3: Get Selected
Step 4: Go for 50 hours mandatory training
Step 5: Pass the IRDA licensing examination and company specific Training
Only then you will achieve License for Insurance Advisor
